buzz on the golden compass

there's a lot of haze out here in blogger land over this new movie. and i want to suggest that we need to do more than just make some noise but it must be informed noise. so...we need to know the "why" behind the many voices that are saying this movie is dangerous. our friends at breakpoint have put this together...so go and.. read more here.

author Tom Gilson also has an insightful piece up on the main BreakPoint site about the trilogy and the film. When these things appear all the negative vibe has a backfiring effect. and one might even think that because "religious leaders" are saying "don't go" and many parents are echoing the same thing... it might be that the movie producers are counting on youth seeking that which they are told not to seek. i hoping that we can encourage each other as to the problems with Mr. Pullman and his world view.
